A Little Bit About Me!

Angela E Salcedo Armendariz (she/her) - Birth and Postpartum Doula, and Student-Midwife

Hello!

I am a professionally trained birth (ToLabor) and postpartum (DONA) doula serving the people of Richmond, Virginia. Along with being a doula, I have had the privilege of working under a a local midwife as her apprentice and birth assistant. Currently, I am also attending the Midwives College of Utah. Virtually, of course!

My family and I are first generation immigrants from Chihuahua, Mexico. As the oldest of three siblings, and as the first to learn English, I have been helping my family with translating and babysitting ever since I was a child. With the privilege of being bilingual, I have been able to help the Hispanic community by serving as an interpreter. Now, I am serving the Hispanic people in navigating this country, especially while expecting a baby.

My ultimate goal is to be a Certified Professional Midwife with a birth center of my own . We would welcome anyone who desires to have an intimate, low intervention birth, where the family is the center. My goal is to work for better birth outcomes for all childbearing families. First as a doula, then as a midwife. Birth work is my passion and I am so grateful to be here in Richmond serving families and learning the beautiful trade under the amazing guidance of local midwives and doulas.

Other than birth work, I love art (especially watercolors). I am also a jewelry maker, linoleum print maker, and an antique teapot and teacup collector!

Please feel free to connect with me if you would like to know more about my services and me!
