Hello! My name is Angela Salcedo.
Ever since I was little, I have felt called upon to help out expecting families and babies. As a student-midwife, birth assistant, and doula, I feel I am fulfilling that calling bit by bit. It is a great honor when I am invited into the space of expecting parents and I am here to serve all pregnant people with the heart of a servant.
Angela offered so many different kinds of valuable support. In the days between my due date and birth she was great about checking in and listening to my frustrations & giving advice. She was very intentional about learning about me and my preferences, like what relaxes me, and used that to help throughout labor. The physical support like hip squeezes and sips of water helped a lot, and so did the moral support like words of affirmation and reminders to try different positions or breathing techniques. And after the birth she was a great advocate for us like by making sure we got food and reminding the hospital staff to get us transferred to the mother/infant unit.
